9 = 2(4x2 + 16x + 16)
9 = 8x2 + 32x + 32
Expand the expression on the right hand side of the equation.
Show work. Rewrite the equation with all terms on one side of the equal sign, with the x2 term first, with the x term in the middle and the constant term last.
