Exponential and Log Equations

i) Find the exact solution to the equation log 3 (x - 2) + log 3 (x - 4) = 2
ii) Use a calculator to find a 4 decimal approximation to the answer.

log 3 [(x - 2)(x - 4)] = 2 Prepare the equation for the application of the inverse log function
by making the left side into the log of a single expression
(i.e. apply the first law of logarithms.)
Show work. Apply the inverse log base 3 function to both sides.
